It is an age old convention of
more than 2,000 years as recorded in Silappathikaram an ancient
Tamil classic that an Arangetram should be held only after a
minimum of 9 to 10 years of rigorous training
On this auspicious occasion the artist presents her art with
great devotion at the feet of her guru and the Divine
Dancer,”Lord Natraja” seeking His blessing. Her career, as a
dancer thus, begins with her Arangetram.
